Data published in the yearbook are related to administrative and territorial breakdown of the country, changes of population size, age and sex composition, its spatial distribution on the territory of the Russian Federation, births, marriages, divorces and migration. Aggregate demographic indicators highlight reproduction of population processes. Standardized coefficients of deaths by causes are also published. Main demographic data for Russia are given in comparison with other countries of the world.

The handbook is issued in Russian and English.
